This month I’m focusing on my writing group’s recently released anthology, 18. In addition to the interviews I’m doing with some of the collection’s authors, I’m also sharing my thoughts about the individual works and writers in the manuscript.
The Seven Swordsmen: Daniel Ferguson
Daniel’s our action guy. Sure, some characters talk and they have complicated backstories and fatalistic narrative plotlines. We’ve all read those books, and when we’re drinking coffee with a beret on our head trying to impress a future life partner, we bring them up.
However, sometimes (hell, most times), we just want an adrenaline shot straight to our storytelling hearts. That’s when it’s time for a Daniel Ferguson tale.
Like swords? Action sequences? Heroic people being heroic because they can? I don’t want to be presumptuous, but if you’re reading my blog then there’s a solid chance you do. And when the head comes off that evil villain, with a good thwak, you cheer just like me at three in the morning.
Well then, has Amazon got a story for you. Available (on awesome days) for free—and downloadable right now (for a mere, insignificant 99 cents)—you can join seven heroically heroic people on their quest against The Silver Man. Go on, I won’t tell your future life partner if you don’t.
